Description of our Watercolor – Whimsical Butterfly Eye

Join us for an all-levels watercolor class, we will
mix technique with imagination to create a
whimsical butterfly eye. Students will explore
wet-on-wet, glazing (layering), dry brush, paint
dropping, salt effects, lifting, sketching & color
mixing in a relaxed & encouraging setting.
Whether you’re new to watercolor or refining
your skills, this class invites curiosity and play, to
allow your creative freedom to take flight.

1. Inspirational butterfly photos/images
(some will also be provided)
2. Pencil
3. Eraser
4. Watercolor Paints
5. Jar/container for water (2)
6. Flat board or tray to tape down paper
7. Fine tip Sharpie pen (preferred) or fine tip
Sharpie marker
8. Fine tip #1 or #2 paint brush
9. Round brush #6 or #8 to lay down water
and/or paint
Provided:
1. Images/photos
2. Masking tape
3. One Arches 9×12 & one 5×7 WC paper
4. Paper towels
5. Hair dryers

Bio:

Kimberly Ganley is both a Cleveland & Port Clinton native. She is a resident artist at The Art Garage in Port Clinton & actively participates with the Peninsula Art Academy both as a volunteer and as an artist. Her work explores imagination, symbolism, and expressive storytelling, and can be found in regional shows and local galleries.
