Terry Anderson, the Art Journey
I started painting upon retirement in 2013and found it to be very relaxing. Painting has opened a whole new spectrum and awareness of this beautiful creation around us. I really thought that I would paint a few paintings, just for the experience, well, like a bucket list of something I wanted to do.
Experiences:
2 yrs-Commercial Art at Ehove, graduated 1971.
In 1972 I was assigned to the 26th Medical Illustration Detachment as a (Medical Illustrator) in Landstuhl, Germany. After we came home from overseas in 1974, jobs were scarce. I worked several jobs for a couple of years, before landing a railroad job in 1977 from which I retired after 36 years. It was on the railroad; I had the opportunity to paint safety signs for our division which covered Ohio and also designed training classes for the entire company. While working on the railroad I was able to get my State Teaching Certificate as substitute art teacher at Ehove JVS and Pioneer JVS. I owned and operated my own sign and screen-printing business for 8 years. When I retired from the railroad in 2013, I started oil painting and also acrylic painting. I currently teach acrylic painting at our local senior center every month with an average of 15 -20 people attending. This is a 2 -2 1⁄2-hour class. A lot of fun!
I teach mostly landscapes or seascapes. I love sharing what I have learned over the years. It is truly a blessing!
